What the score cannot tell you
About half its weight sits on things the rewrite is explicitly asked to fix: sentence-length variety, template phrases and the active voice. So some of the drop is built in rather than discovered, and the honest reading is the two panels of text, not the number on its own. We would rather say this than let you find it out.
