Undetected.ai privacy policy

How Undetected.ai, the AI humanizer that rewrites AI text into natural, human-sounding prose, collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated 22 August 2026.

The short version

We store the text you humanize, together with the rewrite, so that it is waiting for you in your history on your account page. We keep it for 90 days and then delete it automatically, and you can delete any run, or your whole account, yourself at any time. Producing a rewrite means sending your text to Google's Gemini API, so Google processes it too. We collect only the account and usage data we need to run the service, and we never sell your data.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what we collect when you visit undetected.ai, sign up, and use the AI humanizer to rewrite text so it reads more like human writing. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.

The text you humanize

An earlier version of this page told you we threw your text away after producing the rewrite. That was not true of how the product works, so here is what actually happens.

  • We store it. Every run saves the text you pasted in and the rewrite we produced, so your history is on your account page when you come back. Runs made without an account are stored the same way and attached to your browser session.
  • You can delete it, with or without an account. Signed in, every run in your history has a delete button, and you can also delete your entire account, which deletes every run with it. Without an account, a delete button appears next to the rewrite as soon as it is produced, and it removes that run for as long as the browser session that made it lasts. Either way, deleting removes both the text you pasted and the rewrite from our database immediately.
  • We delete it for you after 90 days. A scheduled job removes runs older than 90 days whether you ask or not.
  • We do not train anything on it. We build no models and run no training of our own. We do not sell your drafts or hand them to anyone for their own purposes.
  • We do not read it except where you ask us to help with a specific problem, or where we have to investigate abuse or a security incident.

Google Gemini processes your text

The rewrite itself is produced by Google's Gemini API. Your text leaves our servers and is sent to Google to be processed. That is unavoidable: it is how the humanizer works.

What Google then does with it depends on which tier of their API we are on, and we would rather tell you than let you assume. Today Undetected.ai runs on Gemini's free tier. Google's API terms say that on the unpaid tier Google uses submitted content and generated responses to provide, improve and develop Google's products and services, and that human reviewers may read, annotate and process API input and output. On Google's paid tier the terms are the opposite: prompts and responses are not used to improve their products. We intend to move to the paid tier, and we will update this page on the day we do, not before. Until then, please do not paste anything into the humanizer that you could not accept a stranger reading. Google's terms are at ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms.

Information we collect

  • Account information. The email address you provide when you sign up, used to confirm your account, deliver your verification code and contact you about the service.
  • Your humanizer runs. The text you submitted, the rewrite we produced, the tone and strength you chose, the word count and the AI-pattern scores before and after. Kept for 90 days, deletable by you at any time.
  • Usage data. How many runs and words you have used in a period, so we can apply the daily allowance and, once plans are on sale, your plan limits.
  • Technical data. Standard log information such as IP address, browser type and the page or campaign you arrived from, used for security, fraud prevention and understanding which channels bring people to the site.
  • Messages you send us. If you contact us, we keep your name, email and message so we can respond.

How we use your information

  • To provide the humanizer and return your rewritten text.
  • To create and secure your account and verify your email.
  • To apply your plan's monthly word volume and process billing in US dollars.
  • To respond to support and sales messages.
  • To protect the service from abuse, fraud and security threats.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.

Detector names

Where we name GPTZero, Turnitin, Originality.ai, Copyleaks or ZeroGPT on this site, we are writing about those tools. We have no integration with any of them, we do not submit your text to them, and we cannot show you a result from them. The names are used nominatively and imply no partnership, endorsement or affiliation.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with the service providers who make the platform run: Google (the Gemini API, which receives the text you humanize, as described above), our email delivery provider, our hosting provider and, once plans are on sale, a payment processor. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Data retention

Humanizer runs, including the text you submitted and the rewrite, are deleted automatically 90 days after they were made. You can delete any individual run sooner: from your account page if you have an account, or from the delete button shown with the rewrite if you do not. Deleting your account deletes all of its runs at once. Account information is kept for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting and security obligations.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit what we collect in the first place.

Your choices and rights

You do not have to ask us for the ones that matter most: your account page has a delete button on every stored run and a button that deletes your account and everything in it, and a run made without an account carries its own delete button next to the rewrite. Beyond that you can access, correct or delete your account information and opt out of non-essential email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. To exercise any of these, email us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
