Undetectable AI pricing: how much does Undetectable AI cost per plan and per word
Undetectable.ai advertises a headline price of $5 a month. That number is real, and it is also the least useful figure on their pricing page, because what you actually pay depends on how many words you run.
Here is every published tier, the annual total, the cost per 1,000 words, and where four other tools come out cheaper. We build one of them, so the numbers are all sourced.
2 free runs a day, up to 200 words each. We save your run so you can get back to it, and a delete button appears with the result. See privacy.
This is our own AI-pattern score, measured here on sentence rhythm, template phrases, vocabulary variety and passive voice. It is not a GPTZero, Turnitin, Originality.ai, Copyleaks or ZeroGPT result, and it does not predict one. Worth knowing: we also ask the rewrite to vary sentence length, drop template phrases and prefer the active voice, so some of the drop is built in. Read the two panels below, not just the number.

The short answer
Undetectable AI costs $9.99 per month for 10,000 words, dropping to $5.00 per month if you pay a year up front at $60.00. The paid tiers above that are 20,000 words at $19.00 monthly or $9.50 yearly, 35,000 words at $31.00 or $15.75, and 50,000 words at $42.50 or $21.25, with a custom Business plan above that. There is no free plan, only a one-time 250-word trial. Its cost per 1,000 words runs from $0.50 down to $0.43 on annual billing, which makes it the cheapest way to buy a small volume of humanizing and one of the more expensive ways to buy a large one.

Every published tier
Undetectable AI plans, monthly versus annual, with the cost per 1,000 words
The per-word column is the one their pricing page does not show, and it is the one that decides whether a plan is good value for you.
| Plan | Paid monthly | Paid yearly | Charged up front | Per 1,000 words (yearly) | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 words/mo | $9.99/mo | $5.00/mo | $60.00/yr | $0.50 | One essay or a few blog posts a month |
| 20,000 words/mo | $19.00/mo | $9.50/mo | $114.00/yr | $0.48 | A steady coursework load or light freelance writing |
| 35,000 words/mo | $31.00/mo | $15.75/mo | $189.00/yr | $0.45 | A working content writer |
| 50,000 words/mo | $42.50/mo | $21.25/mo | $255.00/yr | $0.43 | A small content team, scaling up to 380,000 words |
| Business, custom volume | Custom quote | Custom quote | Not published | Not published | Agencies wanting non-expiring credits and white labeling |
Paid monthly, the same tiers work out at $1.00, $0.95, $0.89 and $0.85 per 1,000 words. Annual billing is close to a half-price offer, which is why almost every screenshot of their pricing you will see online shows the yearly column.
What the numbers mean
Four things worth knowing before you pick a tier
The $5 price only exists if you commit to a year
The annual rate is charged as a single $60.00 payment, not $5.00 a month. That is a fine deal if you write consistently for twelve months, and an expensive one if you bought it for a single semester or one campaign. Pay monthly and the same tier is $9.99, which is exactly double per word. Decide which of those two situations you are actually in before the toggle decides for you.
The per-word price barely improves as you scale
Going from 10,000 to 50,000 words a month moves the rate from $0.50 to $0.43 per 1,000 words, a 14 percent improvement for five times the volume. Most software gets meaningfully cheaper per unit as you buy more. Here it stays close to flat, so a high-volume writer is paying a small-volume rate. That is the single biggest reason to compare tools by word count rather than by entry price.
The 250-word trial is a sample, not a free tier
You get one 250-word run to see what the output reads like. That is enough to judge whether the prose survives a rewrite, and it is not enough to finish anything. Treat it as a quality check: paste in a paragraph you know well, with a number and a named source in it, and see whether both come back intact. That test tells you more than any pricing table.
The guarantee covers humanization credits, not the plan
Undetectable.ai publishes a money-back guarantee worded as: if anything it produces is flagged as not human, it will refund the cost of humanization. Read that carefully. It is a credit-level promise about specific flagged output, not a blanket refund of a $60.00 or $189.00 annual charge. If you are buying annually on the strength of a guarantee, check the current terms yourself before you pay. The rest of what a subscription does and does not include, including the plan name that does not exist, is on our Undetectable AI Pro review.
In context
How Undetectable AI pricing compares with four other humanizers
Same question for each tool: what is the cheapest way in, how many words does that buy, and what does 1,000 words actually cost.
| Tool | Cheapest paid plan | What that buys | Per 1,000 words | Free usage | Price checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Undetectable.ai | $5.00/mo billed yearly ($9.99 monthly) | 10,000 words/mo at entry, up to 380,000 on the top published tier | $0.50 down to $0.43 | 250-word trial | August 19, 2026 |
| Undetected.ai | $9.00/mo billed yearly ($12 monthly), a planned price with no checkout yet | 15,000 words/mo on Starter, 80,000 on Pro, 250,000 on Scale | $0.60 on Starter, $0.24 on Pro | Free account: 3 runs a day, 9,000 words a month | August 19, 2026 |
| Walter Writes AI | $8.00/mo billed yearly ($96/yr) | 30,000 words/mo, capped at 750 words per request | $0.27 | 300-word trial | August 19, 2026 |
| WriteHuman | $12.00/mo billed yearly ($18 monthly) | 80 requests/mo at up to 600 words each, so 48,000 words at best | $0.25 if you fill every request | 3 requests/mo at 250 words | August 19, 2026 |
| QuillBot Premium | $8.33/mo billed yearly ($19.95 monthly) | Unlimited paraphrasing, humanizer included in the suite | Not metered by word | 125 words per paraphrase | July 16, 2026 |
Undetected.ai is our product. Every other row was read off that vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, and the per-word figures are ours, calculated from their published numbers.
Under about 15,000 words a month, Undetectable.ai is the cheapest serious option and it is not close. Five dollars a month buys 10,000 words from an established product with an API, unlimited detection checks and writing-level matching. If that is your volume, the rest of this comparison is academic, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
Above roughly 20,000 words a month the ranking inverts. Their 35,000-word tier costs $0.45 per 1,000 words. Walter Writes charges about $0.27 for 30,000 words, WriteHuman about $0.25 if you fill every request, and our Pro plan $0.24 for 80,000. A writer publishing 50,000 words a month pays roughly $189 a year at Undetectable.ai's 35,000 tier and still runs out of words, against $228 a year for 960,000 words on our Pro plan.
Cheap per word is not the same as usable. Walter Writes caps each request at 750 words on its entry tier, so a 3,000-word article has to be split into four passes and stitched back together. WriteHuman's Basic plan meters 80 requests of up to 600 words, so its $0.25 figure only holds if you fill every single request to the limit. Read the per-request cap before the monthly total, because that is where these prices quietly stop being what they look like.
And the honest framing on our own row. We are more expensive than Undetectable.ai at the entry tier: $9 against $5, for 15,000 words against 10,000. What you get for the difference is a visible gauge and the reasons behind both numbers, so you can see what our score measured instead of trusting a confirmation message. Neither of us can show you a GPTZero or Turnitin verdict. Whether that is worth $4 a month is a judgement only you can make, and you can make it on the full head-to-head comparison rather than on this page alone.
Pick by volume
Work out your monthly word count first, then read the prices
Almost every bad purchase in this category comes from buying a headline price and discovering the word limit three weeks later.
Under 10,000 words a month
A student with two or three assignments a term, or a professional cleaning up the occasional report. Undetectable.ai's entry tier at $5.00 billed yearly is the best value on the market for this, provided you will still want it in twelve months. Paying monthly at $9.99 removes the commitment and doubles the per-word cost. If the writing in question is coursework, we set out what the volume actually looks like across a semester on our AI humanizer for students page.
10,000 to 30,000 words a month
A dissertation chapter cycle, a busy freelance month, a small blog. This is the band where the tools genuinely converge and the deciding factor stops being price. Compare per-request caps, whether your meaning survives a rewrite, and whether you can verify the result before you submit or publish.
30,000 words a month and up
Content teams, agencies and SEO operations. Undetectable.ai's published tiers stop being competitive here on a per-word basis, and its Business plan is quote-only, so you cannot compare it without a sales conversation. Flat or uncapped plans are usually the cheaper structure at this volume.
Bursty, not steady
If your work arrives in bursts, three heavy weeks then nothing for a month, monthly billing is worth the premium. Unused words do not roll over on most plans in this category, so an annual commitment sized for your busiest month is money you spend eleven times without using.
You need an API
Undetectable.ai lists API compatibility on all plans, which is unusually generous. Most vendors put programmatic access on a higher tier, and we do not offer it at all. Undetected.ai is a browser product with no API. If you are building humanizing into a pipeline, that rules us out and makes this one of their genuine advantages; we set out who does publish an API on which AI humanizers actually ship one.
You are buying for a team
Shared word pools, seats and billing matter more than the per-word rate once more than one person is pasting text in. Undetectable.ai handles this through its custom Business plan with non-expiring credits and white labeling. Our equivalent is described on the humanizer for content teams page.
Good questions
Questions people ask about Undetectable AI pricing
How much does Undetectable AI cost?
Undetectable AI costs $9.99 per month for 10,000 words, or $5.00 per month if you pay for a year up front, which is billed as $60.00. Larger tiers run $19.00 per month for 20,000 words, $31.00 for 35,000 and $42.50 for 50,000, each roughly halving on annual billing. Business volume is quoted individually.
Does Undetectable AI have a free plan?
No. Undetectable AI gives you a 250-word trial so you can see the output quality once, and after that every use requires a paid plan. There is no recurring free allowance. WriteHuman and BypassGPT both offer small monthly free tiers if a permanently free option is what you are looking for.
What is Undetectable AI Pro?
There is no plan called Pro at Undetectable AI. Its tiers are named by monthly word volume: 10,000, 20,000, 35,000 and 50,000 words, plus a custom Business plan. People searching for Undetectable AI Pro usually mean the paid subscription generally, or they are thinking of a different vendor whose tiers do carry that name.
Is Undetectable AI worth the money?
At $5.00 per month billed yearly it is the cheapest entry price among the established humanizers, and for 10,000 words a month that is good value. It stops being the cheapest option per word above roughly 20,000 words a month, where tools that price volume more aggressively land nearer $0.25 per 1,000 words against its $0.45 to $0.48.
Can I cancel Undetectable AI and get a refund?
You can cancel a subscription, but the published guarantee is narrower than a general refund. Undetectable AI states that if anything it produces is flagged as not human, it will refund the cost of that humanization. That covers the credits spent on flagged output, not automatically the whole plan, and annual billing takes twelve months up front.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Undetectable AI?
Cheaper depends on volume. Nothing beats $5.00 per month at the entry tier. Past about 20,000 words a month, Walter Writes at $0.27 per 1,000 words, WriteHuman at $0.25 and our own Pro plan at $0.24 all cost less per word, so the right comparison is your monthly word count against each tier, not the headline price.
