Smodin AI review of pricing, plans and where the humanizer actually lives

Smodin sells two paid plans and bundles a humanizer in with eight other tools. The headline price buys the weaker version of the one you came for, and neither plan tells you how many words you get. Here is the full ladder, dated, plus the two refund answers their own site gives at the same time.

0 / 200 words

That is more than 200 words, which is what a run without an account takes at once. Trim it, or it will stop at the limit on the next page.

The short answer

Smodin is a nine-tool writing suite with a humanizer inside it, priced at $12.99 or $19.99 a month in USD, or $10.00 and $16.00 a month billed yearly. Two things decide whether it is the right buy. First, the humanizer is listed as "Standard" on the cheaper plan and "Advanced" on the dearer one, so if humanizing is your reason for subscribing, your real entry price is $16.00 a month rather than $10.00. Second, Smodin publishes no word or character allowance for either plan: the comparison table says "Limited" and "Unlimited" and stops there, which means no cost per 1,000 words can be calculated before you pay. Every rival we have priced publishes a number. Smodin's strength is breadth, not the humanizer, and the price is fair for the breadth.

Every price was read on smodin.io on September 17, 2026 through four independent channels, including the page's own Product structured data where the currency is printed as USD. This matters here more than usual: rendered from a European connection the same page showed 38 zl and 57 zl, so the figure you see depends on where you are reading from.

The ladder

Smodin pricing, with the humanizer tier shown beside the price

Two tiers, four USD figures, and the one column every other vendor fills in. Read September 17, 2026.

Plan Monthly Yearly Annual outlay Humanizer Writing output Cost per 1,000 words
Starter $12.99/mo $10.00/mo $120 across twelve months Standard Limited (no number published) Not computable
Premium $19.99/mo $16.00/mo $192 across twelve months Advanced Unlimited Not computable

The annual outlay column is our arithmetic on Smodin's own monthly figure, twelve times the yearly rate, not a total printed on their page. The last column is empty on purpose: with no published allowance there is nothing to divide the price by.

The one thing to know

Smodin does not publish a word limit for either paid plan

Every humanizer we have priced this year states what you get. Five thousand words a month, or 25,000, or 200 runs. Smodin states "Limited" and "Unlimited". Those are the literal cell values in the Writing Output row of its own comparison table, and the tooltip attached to that row defines the measure as the "Amount of content you can generate per period (e.g. limited vs unlimited)". No figure follows.

That single gap changes what you can know before you pay. On any other vendor you can divide the yearly price by the monthly allowance and get a cost per 1,000 words, which is the only number that lets you compare humanizers honestly. HIX Bypass Standard is $2.00 per 1,000 words. Our Starter plan is $0.24. Smodin Starter is an unknown divided by $10.00, and it stays unknown until you have already subscribed and hit whatever the ceiling turns out to be.

Be fair about what this is and is not. It is not a hidden fee and it is not a trick. Bundled suites often meter across several tools at once, and a single word figure would be misleading when the same allowance feeds a writer, a rewriter, a summarizer and a chat window. The honest reading is that Smodin is priced as a subscription to a toolkit rather than as a metered humanizer, and if you want to know your cost per word before you commit, this is the wrong shape of product for that question.

The practical move, if you are buying anyway: subscribe monthly first, run a fortnight of real work through it, and see whether "Limited" is limiting for you. Twelve ninety-nine to find out is cheaper than $120 committed up front to find out.

What each tier actually gives you

The humanizer is "Standard" on the plan most people buy

Every row below is copied from Smodin's own Compare Plans table, read September 17, 2026.

Feature Starter, $10.00/mo yearly Premium, $16.00/mo yearly
AI Humanizer Standard Advanced
AI Content Detector Standard Advanced
AI Writer Standard Advanced
Plagiarism Checker Standard Advanced
Text Rewriter Standard Advanced
AI Models Standard Premium
Writing Output Limited Unlimited
AI Chat Standard Extended memory
Chrome Extension Not included Included
API Access Not included Extended
Bulk Processing Not included Included
Support Email 24/7 priority

Read that table as a buyer rather than as a feature list and one thing stands out. Six of the twelve rows are the same word on both plans, "Standard" against "Advanced", with nothing defining either term. Smodin never says what Advanced humanization does differently from Standard humanization. It says it is better.

The rows that carry real, checkable information are the last four. Chrome extension, API access and bulk processing are absent from Starter entirely, and support drops from email to 24/7 priority. Those are the differences you can verify from outside the product. Everything above them is an adjective.

So the tier question comes down to what you are buying Smodin for. If it is the essay writer, the plagiarism checker and the translator, Starter at $10.00 a month is a lot of software for the money and the "Standard" labels probably do not matter much. If it is specifically the humanizer, you are being told, in the vendor's own table, that Starter is the lesser version, and the price you should be comparing against dedicated tools is $16.00 a month, not $10.00.

At $16.00 the comparison gets harder for Smodin. That is above the entry tier of every dedicated humanizer in the table further down this page, and you still do not know how many words you get. Breadth is the argument, and it is a real one, but it is the only one.

Before you pay

Smodin's site gives two different refund answers

Both of these were live on smodin.io on September 17, 2026. The first sits in the FAQ underneath the pricing table, answering the question "Does Smodin offer refunds?":

"All subscription purchases are non-refundable. As a digital product, access to Smodin features is granted instantly upon purchase and cannot be reversed. We recommend reviewing our plans and feature details carefully before subscribing to ensure Smodin is the right fit for your needs."

The second sits in the help centre, under "Do you offer refunds?":

"We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase if you're not satisfied with our service. Please contact our support team with your request. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days."

Those cannot both be the policy. One says no refunds at all, the other says fourteen days and a five to seven business day turnaround. We are not claiming to know which one a support agent would apply, and it is entirely possible the generous one is the real operating practice and the strict one is stale boilerplate. That is the charitable reading and it may well be right.

What it means for you is simple and does not depend on which is true. Before you pay, email support and ask them to confirm the refund window in writing, and keep the reply. It costs you one email and it converts an ambiguity into something you can point at. This matters most on the annual plan, where the amount at stake is $120 or $192 rather than one month.

The cancellation path itself is clear and published, to Smodin's credit. Their own guide says to log in, go to the account page, "click the 'Subscription' tab", and then "you will see a 'CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION' button". Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running until the end of the period you already paid for. It returns nothing. We walk through the whole exit, including what happens to an annual charge, in our Smodin refund and cancellation breakdown.

The honest case for it

What Smodin is genuinely good at

Breadth, and it is not close. One Smodin subscription covers an AI writer, an AI content detector, a humanizer, a plagiarism checker, a text rewriter, a translator, a summarizer, an AI chat with document memory, and a career toolkit with mock interviews and cover letters. Buying those as separate subscriptions would cost several times $10.00 a month and would mean nine logins.

The multilingual coverage is real too. Smodin's own interface ships in a long list of languages and the translator is a first-class tool rather than an afterthought, which is unusual in this category and genuinely useful if you write in more than one language.

The company checks out. The terms name Smodin LLC and send disputes to binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association, with a one year window to bring a claim and a class action waiver. That is standard US SaaS paperwork, not a red flag, and it is more transparency than several humanizers in this price bracket offer.

Where we would push back is on the framing. Smodin is marketed to students and academics as an all-in-one, and for a student writing essays in a second language the bundle is a strong buy. It is marketed, in the same breath, on the strength of its humanizer, and that is the one part of the bundle you cannot evaluate from the outside: no word figure, no definition of what Advanced means, and the tier that carries it is the dearer one. Buy Smodin for the suite. If the humanizer is the job, price it against dedicated tools.

The paid field

Entry prices across the humanizers we have read first-party

Prices move in this category. Every row carries the day we last read it on the vendor's own page.

Tool Entry price Words per run Entry allowance Read
Smodin $10.00/mo billed yearly Not published Not published, shown as "Limited" Sep 17, 2026
Undetected.ai $24/mo billed yearly 1,500 words 100,000 words a month Sep 29, 2026
HIX Bypass $9.99/mo billed yearly 3,000 words 5,000 words a month Sep 16, 2026
Rewritify $9/mo billed yearly 3,000 words 5,000 words a month Sep 9, 2026
Humanize AI $4.99/mo billed yearly Whole documents on Standard 25,000 words a month on Standard Aug 30, 2026
Undetectable.ai $5/mo billed yearly Not published 10,000 words a month Jul 31, 2026
Humbot $7.99/mo billed yearly 500 words 3,000 basic + 1,000 advanced words Sep 21, 2026
StealthWriter $20/mo ($200/yr) 5,000 words 50 runs a day Sep 5, 2026

Rows are not strictly comparable and we are not pretending otherwise: some vendors publish a per-run cap and some do not, and allowances count different things. Smodin is the only row where both usage columns are blank, and that is the finding rather than an oversight on our part.

Buy it, or do not

Who Smodin is actually the right buy for

Buy Starter at $10.00 a month if you want the suite. Nine tools, strong multilingual support and a plagiarism checker for the price of one mid-tier humanizer is good value, and for a student or a multilingual writer it removes several other subscriptions. Start monthly at $12.99 rather than annual, because "Limited" is not a number and you need a fortnight of real use to find out what it means for your workload.

Buy Premium at $16.00 a month only if you need the extras you can verify. Chrome extension, API access, bulk processing and 24/7 support are the four differences that are not adjectives. If none of those four matter to you, the upgrade is $72 a year for the word "Advanced" in six table cells.

Look elsewhere if the humanizer is the whole job. A dedicated tool will tell you your monthly words, your per-run limit and therefore your cost per 1,000 words before you pay. That is the comparison Smodin's pricing page cannot support, and at $16.00 for the Advanced tier you are paying above the dedicated field for the privilege of not knowing.

For our part, we sell three plans starting at $24 a month billed yearly for 100,000 words across 300 runs a month, which is $0.24 per 1,000 words, and every run caps at 1,500 words on every tier. That is more than Smodin charges to start, for a published allowance rather than a word like "Limited". We publish those numbers because we think you should be able to work out what you are buying before you buy it. What we do not do is the other eight tools: no plagiarism checker, no translator, no essay writer, no chat. If you want one subscription to cover all of that, Smodin genuinely does and we genuinely do not. You can compare our plans and word allowances against the table above, and our breakdown of what the cheapest AI humanizer costs per word puts the whole field on one scale.

Frequently asked

Smodin questions people actually search

How much does Smodin cost?

Smodin costs $12.99 or $19.99 a month in USD, or $10.00 and $16.00 a month billed yearly, which works out at $120 and $192 across twelve months. There are two paid tiers, Starter and Premium. Every figure was read on smodin.io/pricing on September 17, 2026, from the page's own structured data where the currency is stated as USD.

Which Smodin plan has the AI humanizer?

Both, but not equally. Smodin's own comparison table lists the AI Humanizer as "Standard" on the $12.99 Starter plan and "Advanced" on the $19.99 Premium plan, and the strongest humanization wording sits in the Premium feature list only. If the humanizer is why you are subscribing, the tier you are actually shopping is Premium.

Does Smodin have a word limit?

Smodin does not publish one. The comparison table shows Writing Output as "Limited" on Starter and "Unlimited" on Premium, and the tooltip defines that row as the "Amount of content you can generate per period". No word or character figure appears anywhere on the pricing page, so you cannot work out what Starter buys you until you are inside the product.

Does Smodin offer refunds?

Their own site gives two different answers, and both were live on September 17, 2026. The pricing-page FAQ states "All subscription purchases are non-refundable." The help-centre entry states "We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase if you're not satisfied with our service." Get the answer that applies to you in writing from support before you subscribe.

How do I cancel my Smodin subscription?

Log in, open your account page, click the Subscription tab, then press the CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION button and accept the confirmation. Smodin's own guide describes exactly that path. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. It does not return any money.

Is Smodin legit?

Yes, in the sense that matters: it is a real product from a real company. The terms name Smodin LLC and route disputes to binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association, with a one year window to bring a claim and a class action waiver. That is a normal US SaaS setup. The thing to check before paying is the refund answer, not the company.

Is Smodin free?

There is a free tier, and it is capped. Smodin's own interface tells free users "No 500-word limit" as an upgrade benefit and states that "Free humanizations handle up to 500 words". Five hundred words is roughly one page, which covers a cover letter and not much else. Anything longer is a paid plan.

Smodin vs QuillBot: which is better?

They solve different problems. QuillBot is a paraphraser with a grammar checker attached and a much larger user base. Smodin is a wider bundle: writer, detector, humanizer, plagiarism checker, rewriter, translator, summarizer and chat in one subscription. If you want breadth for one monthly fee, Smodin covers more ground. If you want one job done well, neither is a dedicated humanizer.

Why is Smodin showing a price that is not in dollars?

Smodin's pricing page adapts to where you are reading it from. Loaded from a European connection on September 17, 2026 it rendered 38 zl and 57 zl rather than dollars, with a currency selector beside the billing toggle. Set the currency before you subscribe, because Smodin's own help notes that "currency changes may affect your subscription pricing".
