Hastewire Review and Hastewire AI Humanizer Pricing

Hastewire charges $7.99 to $39.99 a month for 7,500 to 50,000 words in rewrites of 500 to 1,000 words. Cheap to start, 50 cents to $1.07 per 1,000 words once you do the math.

That is more than 200 words, which is what a run without an account takes at once. Trim it, or it will stop at the limit on the next page.

Hastewire costs $7.99, $24.99 or $39.99 a month for its Basic, Premium and Professional plans. Paid yearly the list prices are $79.99, $249.99 and $399.99, and right now a 25% promotion cuts those to $59.99, $187.49 and $299.99. The plans give 7,500, 25,000 and 50,000 humanized words a month, but each rewrite is capped at 500, 800 or 1,000 words. It is cheap to start and expensive per word, which is the one thing most reviews of it skip.

We read all of that on hastewire.com on October 1, 2026: the pricing page in its raw form (both the yearly cards and the monthly offers it publishes in its own structured data), the full plan comparison table, and the terms of service. We sell a competing humanizer, so read this as a rival's buyer briefing with every number sourced to Hastewire's own pages. The pages that rank for Hastewire today are software directories and Hastewire's own blog, and none of them work out what a thousand words actually costs on each plan. That is the number that should decide whether you buy.

Paid plans unlock 32 writing tones (the free plan gets one), PDF input, longer history and, on Professional, what Hastewire calls an advanced humanization engine. Words do not roll over, and if you run out mid-month you can buy extra words that never expire: $5 for 2,500, $15 for 7,500 or $30 for 15,000, which is $2 per 1,000. There is also a four-month "Semester" term aimed at students on Basic and Premium, and a custom plan for teams.

Two details on that page deserve a second look. First, the yearly toggle carries a "2 months free" badge, which matches the list prices ($79.99 against $95.88 for twelve months of Basic). The 25% promotion is on top of that and is advertised with an end date, so the $59.99 figure is a sale, not the standing price. Budget for the list price at renewal. Second, the "per 1,000 words" figure printed under each yearly card ($0.67, $0.62 and $0.50) is calculated at the promotional price and assumes you use every word every month.

What a thousand words really costs on Hastewire

This is where Hastewire looks very different from its headline price. Divide each plan's price by its monthly words and you get the rate you actually pay when you use the whole allowance:

PlanPer 1,000 words, monthly billingPer 1,000 words, yearly list pricePer 1,000 words, yearly promotion
Hastewire Basic$1.07$0.89$0.67
Hastewire Premium$1.00$0.83$0.62
Hastewire Professional$0.80$0.67$0.50
Hastewire extra words$2.00 (never expire)
Hastewire API$0.50 per 1,000 words humanized
Undetected.ai Starter (us)$0.49$0.24

Even at its best, sale-priced Professional, Hastewire is around 50 cents per 1,000 words. Monthly Basic is more than a dollar. For comparison, our Starter plan is $24 a month billed yearly for 100,000 words, about $0.24 per 1,000. That is the honest trade: Hastewire asks for much less money up front, and charges two to four times more for each word you humanize.

Which one is cheaper for you depends only on volume. If you humanize a couple of short essays a month, 7,500 words on Basic for $7.99 is a smaller bill than any plan of ours, and Hastewire's free tier of 1,000 words each month may even be enough. Once you pass roughly 25,000 words a month, the per-word rate is what you are really paying, and a bigger allowance at a lower rate wins quickly. The cheapest AI humanizer ranking runs this same arithmetic across every paid plan we have priced.

The per-rewrite cap is the real limit

Hastewire's own FAQ separates two limits: the monthly word allowance and the input size, meaning how many words one request accepts. The input caps are small for this category. Free takes 300 words, Basic 500, Premium 800 and Professional 1,000. Hastewire describes Basic, fairly, as being for "a few hundred words at a time".

In practice a 2,500-word term paper on Premium goes through in four pieces, and you rejoin the seams yourself, which is where rewritten text most often reads stitched together: a paragraph that changes voice halfway, or a transition that no longer points at what came before. If your work is long-form, check the input cap before the monthly allowance. Ours is 1,500 words per run on every plan, and the essay humanizer page explains why longer runs keep a document's voice more consistent.

Hastewire refund policy and how to cancel

Section 9 of the Hastewire terms, last updated February 9, 2026, covers both. You cancel from your account settings, or by emailing support from the address on the account. Cancelling stops future charges, you keep paid access to the end of the billing cycle, and then the account drops to the free tier. That is a clean, ordinary cancellation.

Refunds are narrower. The terms say:

All purchases are generally non-refundable. Refunds may be issued at Hastewire's sole discretion under extraordinary circumstances or as required by applicable law.

A request has to be made in writing within 30 days. The only refund the terms describe in concrete terms is a refund of credits when a submission "provably fails to meet advertised performance standards", as judged by Hastewire itself, with verifiable evidence. In other words, a refund is possible but it is Hastewire's call, and the address hastewire.com/refund-policy returns a page-not-found error. Treat any annual purchase as final, and especially the sale-priced one.

The company is easy to identify, which counts in its favor. The terms name Hastewire LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company based in Mooresville, with disputes going to individual arbitration under American Arbitration Association rules in Iredell County, North Carolina. For a US buyer that is a straightforward, domestic contract, clearer than several rivals we have reviewed that list no street address at all.

Where Hastewire is genuinely good

Credit where it is due, because a review that only lists catches is not much use to a buyer.

  • The free tier renews. 1,000 words every month, not a one-time trial. Most competitors give you a few hundred words once.
  • The API is open to every account at $0.50 per 1,000 words humanized, with no plan required. That is cheaper per word than any of its own subscriptions, which tells a developer something.
  • Tones and languages. 32 writing tones on paid plans and rewriting in 8 languages, with the tone chosen before the rewrite rather than applied afterwards.
  • A detector is bundled, from 5 scans a day on the free tier up to unlimited on Professional, with sentence-level highlighting.
  • Pricing is published in full, monthly and yearly, with the per-word figure printed on the card even if it uses the sale price.

Hastewire also leans into professional use cases, with pages for agencies, finance, recruiting and legal teams, and tones such as legal brief and thought leader. A humanizer only changes wording, though. If you are drafting a brief, the slow part is finding authority, which is a job for a case law research tool, and every rewritten sentence still needs a lawyer's read, because a rephrased term of art can change what a sentence means.

Who should buy Hastewire, and who should not

Buy Hastewire Basic if you humanize a few short pieces a month and want the smallest possible bill; at $7.99 monthly it is a low-risk experiment, and the free tier lets you test it first. Buy Professional yearly while the promotion runs only if you are confident you will use most of the 50,000 words, and remember the renewal will be at the $399.99 list price.

Look elsewhere if you write long documents, because a 500 or 800-word input cap turns every paper into a stitching job, or if your volume is above 25,000 words a month, where Hastewire's per-word rate is two to four times what a larger allowance costs. If you are already comparing several tools, the best AI humanizer roundup prices them side by side, and our GPTHuman AI review covers another budget option with a lower per-word rate and its own catches.

Hastewire review, the short version

Hastewire costs $7.99 to $39.99 a month, or $79.99 to $399.99 a year at list price (currently 25% less on a promotion), for 7,500 to 50,000 humanized words a month in rewrites of 500 to 1,000 words. It has a genuinely renewing free tier, an open API, 32 tones and a bundled detector, and it is run by an identifiable US company. It is also one of the more expensive humanizers per word, its input caps are small, and refunds are at its discretion. Good for light, occasional use. For steady volume or long documents, run the per-word math first, then paste a real draft into our humanizer and compare the output side by side.
