GPTHuman AI review and GPT Human AI humanizer pricing with the guarantee its terms take back
GPTHuman charges $8.25 to $26 a month billed yearly, or $15 to $49 monthly, for 25,000 words up to an "unlimited" plan. Every card promises a detector-bypass guarantee; the terms disclaim it and refund nothing. Here is each plan, the per-word math, and who it suits.

The short answer
GPTHuman AI costs $15, $25 or $49 a month for Starter, Plus and Unlimited, or $8.25, $14 and $26 a month billed yearly ($99, $168 and $312 a year). Starter covers 25,000 words a month at up to 1,000 words per output, Plus 60,000 at 1,500, and Unlimited has no stated allowance but "abuse guardrails" and a 2,500-word output cap. All purchases are non-refundable under its terms, which also say it cannot guarantee a detector will read the output as human. For light use under 25,000 words a month it is one of the cheapest paid humanizers we have priced. Past about 60,000 words, or if you want a published allowance, compare a word-metered plan.
Prices were read on gpthuman.ai/pricing on October 1, 2026 in US dollars, from the raw page, a screenshot with yearly billing on and the GPTHuman help center, which agree. Refund, cancel, trial and company details come from the GPTHuman terms and conditions, last updated December 1, 2024, and its help-center articles.

The yearly toggle says "Save up to 45%". The arithmetic gives 45% on Starter ($99 against $180 a year of monthly billing), 44% on Plus ($168 against $300) and 47% on Unlimited ($312 against $588), so the badge slightly undersells the top plan. On the live page the cards run Free, Starter, Unlimited, Plus: the "Most Popular" Unlimited card sits in the middle and Plus, the better deal per word for most people, is pushed to the far right. Per-1,000-word figures are our arithmetic from the card prices and word allowances. *"Unlimited subject to abuse guardrails", which the page does not define.

Terms and conditions, sections 7 and 26
We cannot guarantee that content created using GPT Human will always be regarded as human-written by such third-party tools.
$0
Refunded, section 7
404
/refund-policy
"All purchases are non-refundable." No liability for misclassified output.
A guarantee normally means you get something back when it fails. Here nothing comes back: section 7 makes every purchase non-refundable, section 26 says GPT Human "shall not be held liable for any consequences" when a detector disagrees with its output, and the refund-policy URL you might look for returns a page-not-found error. The terms do say that if you are unsatisfied you can email support, which is an invitation to ask, not a commitment to pay anything.
We are not saying the rewrites are bad. Third-party reviews put GPTHuman in the budget middle of the pack, and detectors change month to month for every tool in this category, ours included. The point is narrower and practical: read the card's guarantee as marketing, not as a refund right, and use the 300-word trial on your own text before you pay $99 or more up front.
The numbers that decide the plan
GPTHuman word limits per output and per month
GPTHuman meters words of output, which is fair: a 150-word paragraph uses about 150 words of your allowance. The catch is the per-output cap. Starter stops at 1,000 words a run, so a 2,000-word paper goes through in two pieces and you stitch the joins back together yourself. Plus allows 1,500 and Unlimited 2,500.
Per word, Plus billed yearly is the sweet spot at about 23 cents per 1,000 words. Starter is 33 cents yearly and 60 cents monthly. Our Starter costs $0.24 per 1,000 words billed yearly ($0.49 monthly), so GPTHuman Plus and our Starter cost about the same per word, and GPTHuman Starter is much cheaper in absolute dollars for someone who needs only a few essays a month.
One more wrinkle: the pricing card gives Plus 60,000 words a month, while the help center's trial article says Plus comes with 100,000 credits a month. Both pages are live. If the larger figure is what you are buying for, get it confirmed in writing before you pay, because the card is what most people will be held to.

Descriptions of one trial
The pricing page offers 300 words of output. The help center says 300 credits at signup, no card. Section 6 of the terms describes a 7-day free trial. In practice expect the 300 words; nothing we read promises a week of paid features.

Clicks to cancel
Billing, then Next invoice, then Cancel subscription, then confirm. You keep the plan and its credits to the next billing date, and a Resume subscription button undoes it until then. Credits refresh monthly even on yearly plans, so unused words do not pile up.
CA
A thinly identified seller
The terms name "GPT Human" in Montreal, Quebec, with no entity type or street address. Canadian law applies; disputes go to a Brussels-based arbitration chamber seated in Montreal, while another section gives Canadian courts exclusive jurisdiction.
For a US buyer the practical consequence is simple: if a charge goes wrong, your realistic options are the support email and your card issuer, because a contract that points one way to arbitration in a European chamber and another way to Canadian courts is not one anyone will litigate over a $99 plan. Keep the cancellation confirmation email; it is your proof of the end date.
Developers should note that the GPTHuman API runs on its own pay-as-you-go credit balance, separate from any subscription. API credits do not expire and can auto recharge, but subscription words cannot be spent through the API, and API credits cannot be used in the web app. If you need both, you pay for both. Our own humanizer API options page compares how vendors in this category price developer access.

Honest verdict
Is GPTHuman worth it, and for whom
Buy GPTHuman Starter or Plus
Light, steady users on a budget
A few essays or posts a month fit inside 25,000 words, and $8.25 a month billed yearly is hard to beat in absolute dollars. Plus is the better buy per word. Test the 300-word trial first, because nothing is refundable.
Buy with care
Heavy users eyeing Unlimited
$312 a year up front for an allowance defined only by "abuse guardrails" nobody has published, from a seller with no street address in its terms. Fine if you are confident in your volume. Not a plan to build client work on.
Look elsewhere
Anyone buying for the guarantee
If the detector promise is the reason you would pay, the terms remove it and the refund with it. Choose a tool on how its rewrite reads to you and on a published allowance, then check the result yourself.
GPTHuman ships its own AI detector next to the humanizer. A vendor's detector grading its own rewrites tells you the tool ran, not what a third-party detector will say next month. We do not repeat any vendor's detector claims, ours included. Test on your own text before you commit.
Questions buyers ask
GPTHuman questions answered from its own pages
How much does GPTHuman AI cost?
GPTHuman costs $15, $25 or $49 a month for Starter, Plus and Unlimited on monthly billing. Paid yearly the same plans are $8.25, $14 and $26 a month, charged as $99, $168 and $312 once a year. Prices read in US dollars on gpthuman.ai/pricing on October 1, 2026.
Is GPTHuman AI free?
Only as a trial. The pricing page lists a $0 plan with 300 words of humanizer output, and the help center describes the same thing as 300 credits given once at signup, no card needed. That is enough for one short paragraph. Every plan you could use for real work is paid, starting at $8.25 a month billed yearly.
Does GPTHuman really guarantee to bypass AI detectors?
Not in its contract. Each pricing card lists a detector-bypass guarantee with an asterisk that the page never explains. Section 26 of the terms says GPT Human cannot guarantee its output will always be regarded as human-written and accepts no liability for misclassification, and section 7 makes all purchases non-refundable.
Does GPTHuman give refunds?
No. Section 7 of the GPTHuman terms says all purchases are non-refundable, and gpthuman.ai/refund-policy returns a 404. The terms only invite unhappy customers to email support. If a refund matters to you, use the 300-word trial on your own text before you pay, because there is no published way back after.
How do I cancel my GPTHuman subscription?
Log in, open Billing, scroll to the Next invoice section and click Cancel subscription. You get a confirmation email and keep every feature and credit until the next billing date, then the plan expires. Until that date a Resume subscription button on the same page undoes the cancellation.
Is GPTHuman Unlimited really unlimited?
The card says Unlimited words a month with an asterisk that reads "Unlimited subject to abuse guardrails". The guardrails are not defined on the pricing page or in the help center. Each request is still capped at 2,500 words of output, so a long document goes through in several pieces.
Who owns GPTHuman, and is it legit?
The terms name "GPT Human" as the company you contract with and give Montreal, Quebec, Canada as its location, without a legal entity type or street address. Canadian law applies. The terms are dated December 1, 2024 and send disputes to arbitration under a Brussels-based chamber while another section gives Canadian courts exclusive jurisdiction.
What is a good GPTHuman alternative?
If you humanize more than about 60,000 words a month or want a published allowance instead of guardrails, compare a word-metered plan: Undetected.ai Starter is $24 a month billed yearly for 100,000 words in up to 300 runs. For under 25,000 words a month, GPTHuman Starter is cheaper.
