You cancel Natural Write on the web from the account icon in the top right, then Manage Subscription, then Cancel subscription on the billing page it opens. Do it before the renewal date, and use up your words first. On refunds, Natural Write gives two answers: its FAQ offers one within 14 days if you have used fewer than 500 words, while its terms of service say no purchase is refundable under any circumstances.
Everything below was read on September 29, 2026 from naturalwrite.com: the pricing page, the FAQ, the refund page and the terms of service (last updated January 1, 2025). We sell a competing humanizer, so read this as a buyer's briefing from a rival, with every quote sourced to Natural Write's own pages. Plan prices, word allowances and the per-request limit are in our full NaturalWrite review.
How do I cancel my Natural Write subscription?
Natural Write's FAQ gives the route in one sentence, and it matches what the account menu shows. Step by step:
- Sign in at naturalwrite.com with the account that pays for the plan.
- Click the account icon in the top right corner.
- Choose Manage Subscription. You are sent to the billing page run by the payment processor, outside the Natural Write app.
- Click Cancel subscription and confirm.
- Screenshot the confirmation with the date and the plan end date visible, and keep the cancellation email when it arrives.
Section 28 of the terms says subscriptions "renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date", and that cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for the period you are in. So the timing that matters is the day before renewal, not the day after. A card charge can land in the early hours of the renewal date.
Cancelling Natural Write bought in the iPhone or Android app
If you subscribed inside a phone app, the web steps above will not stop the charge. Natural Write's own help text says changes to billing, renewal or cancellation "must be made with Apple" for App Store purchases. On an iPhone that is Settings, your name, Subscriptions, then the Natural Write entry. On Android it is the Play Store, your profile icon, Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
One detail worth knowing before you go hunting: the apps sold under the Natural Write name in both stores are listed by developers whose names are not Natural Write Inc., and the App Store charges different prices from the website (Basic is $8.99 there against $9.99 a month on the web). If your receipt comes from Apple or Google, your refund request goes to Apple or Google too, under their rules, not Natural Write's.
Does Natural Write give refunds?
This is where the two documents part ways. Here is each one, in its own words.
| Where | What it says |
|---|---|
| FAQ and pricing page | "You can request a refund within 14 days of your purchase as long as you've used fewer than 500 words." Requests go through naturalwrite.com/refund, which asks you to log in. |
| Terms of service, section 6 | "All purchases made through our Services are non-refundable." And: "Refund of credits or payments will not be provided under any circumstances." |
| Terms of service, section 28 | By subscribing you waive the standard 14-day withdrawal period, and all payments are non-refundable. |
| Terms of service, section 7 | A subscription may not last a full year if the service ends, in which case it "will terminate immediately without any refund." |
Our read: the FAQ refund is the one Natural Write actually runs, because a company does not build a request form for a refund it never grants. But the terms are the contract you accept at checkout, and if support ever declines a request, that is the document they can point to. The practical defense is simple. On the day you buy, save a dated screenshot of the FAQ answer, and if you ask for a refund, quote it word for word.
How to ask for a Natural Write refund inside 14 days
The 500-word ceiling is the condition that catches people. It is less than two uses of the free 300-word trial, so the refund really exists for one case: you bought, tried something short, and decided at once. If that is you:
- Check your usage in the account before you do anything else. If it shows 500 words or more, the FAQ offer no longer applies.
- Go to naturalwrite.com/refund while logged in and submit the request. Mention the purchase date and the plan.
- Quote the FAQ sentence above and attach your dated screenshot of it.
- Per the FAQ, once a refund is processed your subscription is cancelled automatically. You do not need to cancel separately, but check the billing page afterward to be sure.
If you are past 14 days or past 500 words, there is no published route to a refund at all, on either document.
What happens to my words when I cancel Natural Write?
Another pair of answers that do not quite line up. The FAQ says that after you cancel you keep access until the end of your current billing period. Section 6 of the terms says that "upon cancellation, you will lose any remaining usage credits or allotted usage immediately." Unused monthly words never roll over in any case; the FAQ answers that question with a flat "No." Word top-ups bought separately stay in the account until used.
The safe order of operations is to finish the work you want to run, then cancel. Do not cancel early in the month expecting to keep a balance you have not spent.
Should you cancel monthly or leave an annual plan to run out?
The annual plans are exactly half the monthly price, which is a real saving: $4.99 a month for Basic against $9.99, and $39.99 for Unlimited against $79.99. The catch is that a yearly plan is paid up front and, under the terms, refunded never. So the choice between the two billing cycles is really a choice about how sure you are.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Card says billed yearly | Words a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $9.99 | $4.99 | $59.88 | 5,000 |
| Pro | $19.99 | $9.99 | $119.88 | 15,000 |
| Ultra | $39.99 | $19.99 | $239.88 | 30,000 |
| Unlimited | $79.99 | $39.99 | $479.88 | Unlimited |
If you already hold an annual plan you no longer want, cancelling stops the next renewal and nothing more. There is no pro-rated refund for the months left. If you are still inside a monthly plan and unsure, stay monthly for one more cycle rather than switching to yearly to save a few dollars.
For freelancers who bill this cost to client work, one more thought: the subscription is rarely what strains the budget. Late-paying clients are. If that is the real problem, software that chases every unpaid invoice for you will do more for your cash than any humanizer discount.
Can I dispute a Natural Write charge with my bank?
You can, but think it through first. The terms do not mention chargebacks directly. They do allow Natural Write to "deny access or terminate your account" for any breach, bar new accounts after that, and send disputes to individual binding arbitration after 30 days of informal talks. The governing law is "the jurisdiction in which Natural Write operates", with no state or country named, and the terms publish no postal address.
That makes your card issuer the realistic remedy for a charge you did not authorize or a renewal you cancelled in time. Contact Natural Write at support@naturalwrite.com first and keep the reply. A bank dispute backed by a dated cancellation screenshot and an unanswered support email is a strong one. A dispute over a renewal you simply forgot is not.
What to switch to after Natural Write
It depends on why you are leaving.
- You ran out of words. Basic's 5,000 words a month disappear after one long paper and a redo. Undetected.ai Starter gives 100,000 words a month, for $49, or $24 a month billed yearly.
- You need very long pastes. Natural Write takes 3,000 words per request, twice our 1,500. If you routinely run whole reports in one go, that is a real reason to stay on Natural Write rather than switch.
- You want to see what changed. Every run on Undetected.ai shows our AI-pattern score before and after and names the patterns it rewrote, so you can judge the edit instead of trusting a single number. Try it on a paragraph in the essay humanizer.
For the wider field priced on the same columns, see the best AI humanizer comparison, or the WriteHuman AI review if you are weighing a plan metered by requests instead of words.
Natural Write cancellation and refund, the short version
Cancel on the web through the account icon, Manage Subscription, Cancel subscription, a day or more before renewal, and after you have used your words. Cancel app purchases with Apple or Google. Ask for a refund only inside 14 days and under 500 words, quote the FAQ, and keep a screenshot, because the terms of service say no refund at all. If you are still choosing, start monthly: the annual discount is real, but so is a contract that never refunds it.
