WriteHuman AI review and WriteHuman AI humanizer pricing, plus the caps behind "Unlimited"

WriteHuman charges $12 to $39 a month billed yearly, or $20 to $59 monthly, and counts requests instead of words. Its top plan is sold as unlimited while its own terms describe monthly caps it does not publish. Here is every plan, the math, and who it suits.

The short answer

WriteHuman AI costs $20, $29 or $59 a month for Basic, Pro and Ultra, or $12, $19 and $39 a month billed yearly ($144, $228 and $468 a year). It meters requests, not words: Basic gives 80 requests of up to 600 words, Pro 200 of up to 1,200, and Ultra "unlimited" requests of up to 3,000 words, which its terms say still carry unpublished monthly caps. All payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Pro is excellent value if you fill most requests with long text. If you humanize many short pieces, you pay for request slots you barely use, and a word-metered plan costs less.

Prices were read on writehuman.ai/pricing on September 30, 2026 in US dollars, from the rendered page, its plan comparison table and a screenshot with yearly billing on, which agree. The yearly toggle says "4 months free", and it holds on every tier: $144 against $240 a year of monthly Basic, $228 against $348 for Pro, $468 against $708 for Ultra. WriteHuman prints its monthly and yearly prices side by side in one comparison table, which is more candid than most of this category. The word ceiling is our arithmetic (requests times the per-request cap), not a figure WriteHuman prints. *See the next section on what "Unlimited" means.

What the card suggests: no counter at all.

Terms of service, section 13

"Unlimited" means the plan has no stated monthly allowance for that feature. It does not mean there are no limits.

Monthly request caps, per-request word limits and rate limits, "enforced automatically".

The pricing FAQ says the same thing in softer words: Ultra "has no stated monthly allowance", every plan has "monthly request caps, per-request word limits, and rate limits", and the caps are set "above what ordinary personal use needs". If you hit one, requests "may be refused until it resets on your next billing day". The number itself is not printed anywhere we could find, and the terms add that WriteHuman may change it.

For a student or a single writer this probably never bites. For an agency or anyone planning to run client work through one Ultra seat, it matters twice: the cap is unknown, and section 4 of the same terms allows one person per account, watches devices and locations, and lets WriteHuman end a shared account without a refund. Ultra is a heavy personal plan, not a team plan. Also note that the plan called Unlimited is the one with a numbered ceiling on its newest feature: MCP access is "1,000 / mo" on Ultra and uncapped "Yes" on Pro.

The number that decides the plan

WriteHuman request limits and what a request really costs

Almost every other humanizer sells a monthly word allowance. WriteHuman sells attempts, and a 150-word product description uses a whole request just like a 1,200-word essay section does. So the price per 1,000 words is not on the card. It depends on how full you keep each request.

Filled to the cap, Pro is superb: 200 requests of 1,200 words is 240,000 words a month for $19, about 8 cents per 1,000 words. At a more realistic 300-word average paste, the same plan moves 60,000 words and the rate rises to about 32 cents. Basic at 300 words a paste is 50 cents.

A word-metered plan charges the same rate whatever you paste. Ours costs $0.24 per 1,000 words on Starter billed yearly ($0.49 monthly), so it beats WriteHuman for short and mixed work and loses to Pro for people who fill every request.

Cost per 1,000 words, yearly billing

WriteHuman Basic, 300-word pastes $0.50
WriteHuman Pro, 300-word pastes $0.32
WriteHuman Basic, every request full $0.25
WriteHuman Pro, every request full $0.08
Undetected.ai Starter, any paste size $0.24
Rule of thumb: if your average paste on WriteHuman Pro is under about 400 words, a word-metered plan at our Starter rate costs less per word.

Who you are buying from

WriteHuman refund policy, cancellation and the company behind it

$0

Refunded by default

"All payments are non-refundable except where the law requires a refund." No refund for unused requests, partial months or a downgrade, which becomes account credit only. The FAQ agrees with the terms, so there is no contradiction to lean on.

Ways to leave, one costly

Cancel in My Account and you keep the plan to the end of the paid period. Delete the account instead and every subscription ends at once, the rest of the period is forfeited and nothing is refunded.

VA

A named US company

Write Human LLC of Midlothian, Virginia. Virginia law, courts in Chesterfield County or Richmond, and individual arbitration after a written notice of dispute. More transparent than most rivals we have reviewed.

Renewals charge "the then-current price", and a grandfathered price ends the moment a cancellation takes effect, so if you cancel and come back later you pay whatever the ladder says then. The monthly prices here already rose between our August and September readings. Disputing a charge with your bank lets WriteHuman suspend the account while the dispute is open, which is standard but worth knowing before you file. Phone app subscriptions are billed weekly or monthly by Apple or Google, refunded only by them, and not cancelled by deleting the app.

One more clause worth reading if you are a student: section 7 prohibits using the service for academic dishonesty or to break an AI-use rule that applies to you. Every serious humanizer has a version of this, and it means the vendor will not stand behind you if a school raises a question. If something you wrote yourself was flagged, rewriting it is the wrong fix; how to prove you did not use AI covers what actually helps.

Honest verdict

Is WriteHuman worth it, and for whom

Buy WriteHuman Pro

Long-form writers who fill requests

If most of your jobs run 800 to 1,200 words, Pro at $19 a month billed yearly is the cheapest per word in this comparison by a distance. Try the free tier first, because there is no refund after you pay.

Buy with care

Heavy users eyeing Ultra

$468 a year up front for a plan whose real ceiling is unpublished and changeable. Fine for one busy person. Not a way to run a team or client work through one login, which the terms forbid.

Look elsewhere

Short and mixed pieces

Captions, emails, product blurbs and single paragraphs each burn a full request. On Basic, 80 of them is about 12,000 words at 150 words each. A word-metered plan charges only for the words you paste.

WriteHuman's site announces model updates aimed at named detectors, and every plan includes its own AI detector. A vendor's detector grading its own rewrites tells you the tool ran, not what a third-party detector will say next month. We do not repeat any vendor's detector claims, ours included. Test on your own text before you commit.

Questions buyers ask

WriteHuman questions, answered from its own pages

How much does WriteHuman AI cost?

WriteHuman costs $20, $29 or $59 a month for Basic, Pro and Ultra on monthly billing. Paid yearly the same plans are $12, $19 and $39 a month, charged as $144, $228 and $468 once a year. Prices read in US dollars on writehuman.ai/pricing on September 30, 2026, unchanged since our September 18 reading.

Is WriteHuman AI free?

There is a free tier: 3 humanizer requests a month at up to 250 words each, with the basic model and 10 detection checks. That is 750 words a month in total, enough to test the style on one paragraph three times. Every plan with the enhanced model is paid, starting at $12 a month billed yearly.

Is WriteHuman Ultra really unlimited?

No. The pricing page says "Unlimited requests", but section 13 of the terms says an Unlimited plan only has no stated monthly allowance. It still has monthly request caps, a 3,000-word limit per request and rate limits, set by WriteHuman, enforced automatically and not published on the pricing page.

Does WriteHuman give refunds?

No, apart from refunds the law requires. Section 12 of the terms, updated September 21, 2026, says all payments are non-refundable and rules out refunds for unused requests, partial periods and downgrades. The pricing FAQ says the same and points you to the free plan to test first. App store purchases go through Apple or Google.

How do I cancel WriteHuman?

Cancel in My Account on writehuman.ai. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you paid for, then the account drops to the free plan. Do not delete the account to cancel: deletion ends the subscription at once and forfeits the rest of the period. App subscriptions are cancelled in Apple ID or Google Play settings.

Who owns WriteHuman, and is it legit?

The terms name Write Human LLC, 1224 Shirlton Rd, Midlothian, Virginia, as the company you contract with. Virginia law governs, with individual arbitration after a written notice of dispute. That is a normal US software contract. It bills through a mainstream card processor and publishes its prices, limits and refund rule openly.

Is WriteHuman worth it?

Pro at $19 a month yearly is worth it if most of your jobs are long, near its 1,200-word request cap: at full use that is about 8 cents per 1,000 words. Basic is poor value, and anyone who humanizes many short pieces pays for requests they barely fill. Work out your average paste size before you choose.

What is a good WriteHuman alternative?

If your pastes are short or vary in size, a word-metered plan is fairer: Undetected.ai Starter is $24 a month billed yearly for 100,000 words in up to 300 runs, so a 150-word paragraph uses 150 words. If you write long documents and fill every request, WriteHuman Pro is cheaper per word.

Pay for the words you paste, not the requests you open

Paste a real draft and run it once. Our AI-pattern score shows what changed and why, before and after, and plans start at $24 a month billed yearly for 100,000 words.
