Ryne AI Cancel Subscription and Refund Policy, the 30% Fee

Cancel Ryne AI from Account Settings before renewal and your coins are lost. Refunds need 3 days, under 500 coins used, and Ryne keeps a 30% processing fee.

That is more than 200 words, which is what a run without an account takes at once. Trim it, or it will stop at the limit on the next page.

No sign-up to see your result. 2 free runs a day, up to 200 words each.

You cancel Ryne AI from Account Settings with the Cancel Subscription button, before the renewal date. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for, but any coins you have left are lost. A refund is possible only if you ask within 3 days of buying, have used no more than 500 coins and one AI Report, and even then Ryne keeps a 30% processing fee. Renewals are not refunded at all.

Everything below was read on September 28, 2026 from the Ryne terms (last updated September 14, 2025), the Ryne pricing page, and the text of Ryne's own cancellation flow, which it publishes as a demo at ryne.ai/cancel-demo. We sell a competing humanizer, so treat this as a buyer's briefing from a rival, with every quote sourced to Ryne's own pages. Prices, per-run word caps and the company details are in our full Ryne AI review.

How do I cancel my Ryne AI subscription?

Section 5.4 of the terms says subscriptions "renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date", and the cancel button lives on the account page. The steps:

  1. Sign in at ryne.ai with the account that pays for the plan.
  2. Open Account Settings. Your plan card shows the plan name, its price and three buttons: Upgrade Plan, Update Payment and Cancel Subscription.
  3. Click Cancel Subscription. Ryne asks "Before you go, mind sharing why?" and offers reasons such as Price is too high, Output quality issues and Don't need it right now.
  4. Read the offer that follows your answer (more on those below) and choose Continue with cancellation if you still want out.
  5. The last screen, headed "Ready to cancel?", lists what you lose. Confirm with Cancel subscription.
  6. Wait for "Cancellation successful" and take a screenshot of it, with the date visible.

Do this at least a day before the renewal date shown on your plan. Card payments can be taken hours before midnight, and a renewal that slips through is the one charge the terms rule out refunding.

What the Ryne cancel screens offer before you can leave

Ryne describes its cancellation flow as "designed to reduce churn", and the offer changes with the reason you pick. From the text of the flow:

Reason you pickWhat Ryne offers
Price is too highGet 50% off, applied instantly ("I'll stay with 50% off")
You are switching to another toolA price match: "Show us their pricing and we'll match or beat it", or a pause while you compare
Output quality issuesPersonalized help from an expert
Semester break or holidayPause the plan for 1 to 3 months, with no charges while paused
Something elseA pause of up to 3 months

Two of those are worth a second look if you like the product and only mind the price. The 50% discount is real money on Emerald ($29.99 a month), and the price match is unusual in this category. If you are leaving because a rival costs less, you can quote that price back to Ryne and see what it offers. Just note how long the discount runs: the screen names the period when you activate it, so screenshot that too.

The pause is the right choice for a semester break. It stops billing and, unlike cancelling, it does not throw away your coins.

What happens to my coins when I cancel Ryne?

They go. The final cancel screen says it plainly: "Your remaining coins will be lost". Section 5.3 of the terms matches it: unused coins roll over from one billing period to the next while you keep paying, and "Coins will automatically expire if the subscription has not been renewed."

So a Sapphire subscriber sitting on a large unused balance should spend it before the period ends, or pause instead of cancelling. On Emerald and Ruby the coins are unlimited, so there is nothing to lose there. You keep access to the paid tools until the end of the period you paid for; the screen says "You'll still have access until the end of your billing period".

Does Ryne AI give refunds?

Rarely, and never in full. Section 5.2 of the terms, headed Refunds, lists every condition:

Refunds are only issued if: A request is made within 3 days of purchase. The account has not consumed more than 500 Coins. No more than 1 AI Report used. A 30% processing fee applies to refunds. Renewals of Subscriptions are non-refundable.

Put numbers on it. If you bought Emerald for $29.99 yesterday and barely touched it, the most you can get back is $20.99. On a yearly Emerald plan at $251.99 the fee is $75.60, so the best case is $176.39. On yearly Ruby ($839.99) the fee alone is $252.00.

The 500-coin line is the one that catches people. Sapphire includes 10,000 coins, so using a twentieth of the allowance while you test it closes the refund window, whatever day it is. And the 3 days run from purchase, not from the moment you first log in.

Can I get a refund for a Ryne AI renewal?

Not under the terms. "Renewals of Subscriptions are non-refundable" covers every automatic renewal, monthly or yearly. If a yearly plan renewed without you noticing, that is the most expensive mistake on the ladder: $167.99, $251.99 or $839.99 with no written route back.

Ask anyway, politely and in writing. The terms list legal@ryne.ai as the contact address, and the site also has live chat. Say when the renewal posted, that you have not used the new period, and that you want the charge reversed. Some buyers on public review sites report getting money back after persisting, but that is goodwill, not a right, so do not count on it.

How do I ask Ryne for a refund inside the 3 days?

  1. Check you qualify: purchase under 3 days ago, no more than 500 coins spent, no more than one AI Report run.
  2. Stop using the account. Every run spends coins and can push you past 500.
  3. Write to Ryne through live chat or email and ask for a refund under section 5.2 of the terms. Give the account email, the plan, the purchase date and the amount.
  4. Say that you understand the 30% processing fee applies, so the reply can go straight to the amount.
  5. Cancel the subscription as well, so nothing renews while the request is open.
  6. Save the chat transcript or email thread, plus your receipt.

Should I delete my Ryne account instead of cancelling?

No. Section 10 of the terms lets you terminate your account "at any time through your settings", but it adds that "your access to services will cease immediately". Deleting the account does not refund anything and ends the time you already paid for. Cancel the subscription first, use what is left of the period, and delete the account afterwards if you want your data gone.

What if Ryne refuses and I want to dispute the charge?

The terms put the contract under the law of the Meydan Free Zone in Dubai, and they name two different dispute routes. Section 8.2 points to arbitration in Dubai or the Dubai courts; section 11 points to American Arbitration Association rules with the arbitration held in the UK. Neither is practical for a $30 charge.

For a US buyer the realistic route is your card issuer. Card disputes work best for charges you did not authorize, or for a cancellation you can prove the merchant ignored, so your screenshots of the "Cancellation successful" screen are what matter. A renewal you simply forgot to cancel is a weaker case, because the terms disclosed the auto-renewal.

What to use after Ryne AI

It depends on what you actually used. If the Lecture Lab and note tools were the reason you paid, you can turn your lecture notes into practice quizzes with a tool built only for that, and skip a whole suite.

If the humanizer was the part you used, the number to look for is words per run. Ryne's Emerald plan takes 1,500 words in one paste for $29.99 a month. Undetected.ai takes the same 1,500 words per run on every plan, from $49 a month for 100,000 words, and our essay humanizer shows what changed in a draft and why. You can paste a real paragraph into the tool at the top of this page and see the result before you pay for anything. Every other paid humanizer is priced per 1,000 words in the cheapest AI humanizer comparison, and if you are weighing a similar student suite, our Grubby AI refund and cancellation guide reads that vendor's terms the same way.
